It was a wet and windy Wednesday night but that didn’t stop Lesley and the Yorvale team getting dolled up for a glitzy Deliciously Yorkshire Dinner, hosted by Nigel Bardon and Stephanie Moon, Yorvale won the ‘Best Ice Cream’ category for our NEW Yorlife Kefir Ice Cream – Sour Cherry Flavour.
The panel of judges said this year’s winning product, “blew their socks off!” Further, judge, Nigel Bardon said “I loved the fresh but rich taste which was beautifully smooth on the palate and had generous bursts of sour cherry. This product is Innovative, healthy and delicious, this exceeded all our expectations and was a real treat to eat. A well-deserved winner in a closely fought category.”
For those unaware of our sister brand Yorlife, it is an arm of the business that produces naturally cultured dairy products. The brand aims to promote healthy living through its probiotic Kefir products that aid the rebalance of gut flora, resulting in healthy digestion for an all-round better feeling of wellness.
We started this venture into Kefir by producing a traditional drink product to use up surplus milk. There are currently 3 flavours of the drink. A natural flavour, a refreshing mango and passion-fruit flavour and a blueberry and elderflower flavour all with their own accolades.
Given our roots in ice cream it didn’t take us long to have a crack at playing around with the Kefir recipe and turning it into an ice cream. Our innovative team of researchers and operators have been working on a number of exciting flavours to bring to market. Our Jaffa Orange flavour has already won a great taste award and now its fruity cousin has been recognised for its amazing taste too!
